For all the Kris fans out there…Kris is back (I’m pretty sure that everyone knows that by now =P)!
On March 12th, 2013, a fan that spotted Kris outside having dinner in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China before the day of his flight to Beijing, mentioned that Kris would be flying back to South Korea. As usual, information such as this in the Internet Age aka the Age of “Big Brother is Watching You” spreads globally across all social media networking sites and electronic devices with a wireless connection, and that too at lightning speed. Upon hearing the good news, fans felt inexpressible joy in their hearts and were preparing to either see Kris at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport or sit behind their computer screen and get ready for reblogging the fashionista’s airport pics. on Tumblr.

Hailing from a nation that has a population of over 1.3 billion, it is no surprise that there were a large number of fans that turned up to meet Kris at the airport and bid him farewell. Moreover, on the very same day, Kris‘ appearance at the airport and his soaring popularity had landed his name as the No.1 most searched topic on Weibo, a Chinese social networking site that is equivalent to Twitter.
SM Entertainment…you have done well to crack into the Chinese market by effectively utilizing your carefully-planned out marketing techniques for EXO-M. As for you, Kris…you have done well by being attentive to the emotions of your fans. However, a word of advice…be careful of pleasing people too easily. Yes, it’s a way of bringing joy and happiness for many, but take it from the famous people that have experienced and expressed that pleasing people should never be a top priority. Do not sacrifice your own personal happiness for the sake of others.
Without a doubt, Dui Zhang Kris, an admirable person in the eyes of many, has learned over time, since his debut, on how to win the hearts of fans. A leader, a good communicator, a person that expresses wisdom and empathy, a person that tries to make it clear that he can be himself even as a celebrity, that is none other than Dui Zhang Kris. Should I say more and sound more flattering? =P

The most funny thing was during the whole process, Kris gained a lot of passerby/uncle fans. He sure was pleased of himself. With the black sunglasses and sitting on his seat coolly, the uncles that passed by will stop and come close to take many pictures. Your idol is a good person, when fans wanted his signatures on the plane he gave it to them. After that the situation kind of got out of control when the fans started queuing up to get his signature. The air stewardesses started collecting their notebooks and then returning them back to the fans so as to not affect the flight safety.
When there’s an announcement for meals, Yifan told those fans in the queue “Time to eat, everyone return back to your seats.” I would like to add on that, he looks really shy when he smiles.

The original uncle, which sat in the seat, said, “If you guys like this seat, I could give it you guys.” In that moment, it was very overwhelming and caused some commotion. Approximately an hour later, the uncle returned and said, “All of them are too afraid to sit next to you, so I might as well return.” *sigh* At that time, the seat had been filled with fan letters, pens and paper. It would have been cool if one of the fans had the guts to sit next to Kris and just chill. xD I would have went and sat in the empty seat next to his, then stare at the white wall in front of me in silence and with a straight face for a few minutes. After that I would scare Kris by turning my head towards him immediately with a clown-like grin, and just stare at him like that for a couple of minutes. Just kidding! (A big sporty guy sitting next to my desk did that in class, which was an Accounting II class, back in my previous university just to get a reaction out of me. It was pretty hilarious! I tried really hard not to laugh so that I wouldn’t get in trouble by the professor).

Basically, the airlines that Kris was flying on had sent his luggage to Qingdao by mistake. This is why one should make sure to always carefully check the details on the sticky tag that is placed on the luggage while checking-in.

Now, moving onto the highlights of Dui Zhang flying from Beijing Capital International Airport to Incheon International Airport on March 14th, 2013…
A fan had given Kris Ferrero Rocher chocolates for White Day (have I ever mentioned that Forrero Rocher, Lindt, and Patchi chocolates are my favorite?). White Day is a day celebrated in East Asia on March 14th, which is a month after Valentine’s Day. On this day, the guys give gifts, such as chocolates, to their loved ones. Kris, being the “heartwarming” person that he is =P, opened the case of Ferrero Rocher chocolates and handed some out to the fans. Me want one too!

Anyhow, remember when I once said that Kris is like three different people? It suddenly occurred to me that perhaps…on this trip Kris really was three different people. By that, I mean…
It was Wu Yi Fan that traveled back home to Guangzhou in China. It was Kevin that traveled back to Canada. Now, it’s Kris that has finally flown back to South Korea, reassuring his fans that, “I’m waiting because I can’t be without you” (this was written in an autograph that he gave to a fan while traveling).
Yah…what’s the point of saying these words? You will be breaking a lot of people’s hearts in the future by saying such things. Save it for someone else! BABO!

I’m actually listening to some songs that I listened to back in high school and feel really overwhelmed by the nostalgia. Okay, that was random, but my thoughts have shifted away from Dui Zhang‘s airport phenomenon right now =P Sometimes I get stuck in the past and sometimes I think too far ahead into the future. I always have to remind myself that I must live in the present.
I still haven’t found the motivation to write the book that I have always wanted to write, and never did I expect to end up writing posts like these instead. Maybe a few years from now when Kris becomes a grandpa, he would stumble on these posts and remember how he used to be xD Just kidding!

I read Lay‘s message to fans for White Day and I must say his expression of love sounds like Kris‘. So, do the guys in SME get training on writing “love letters” to fans? xD

Did anyone spot something interesting in it? No, it’s not the disco dance move that he is doing with his hand…hahaha (I’m just joking about that), it’s the Ferrero Rocher chocolate in his bouquet of flowers. Kris must have given his 11 brothers some of the chocolate that he received. It has been more than a month since Kris has seen his fellow brothers. There must have been a happy reunion with lots of hugs and laughs as soon as Kris got back. ^^

On a random note, you know that StarCall application that’s available on the iPhone? Has anyone noticed that U-KISS is always sending video messages to fans? It looks like they really enjoy using the app. There is a StarCall notice almost everyday and it always turns out to be from them!

It’s a good thing that I checked the spam section today and found some of the comments there, ’cause I usually don’t check them and then after a while they get deleted. After typing up the post on Dui Zhang‘s absence last night, I suddenly remembered reading a fan account of when EXO were having their promotions in Thailand around late July, 2012. The first thing that struck me when I read that fan account was what Dui Zhang had stated…

I suddenly asked, “What does Kris mean by when ‘he is gone’? Where are you going Kris!? o.O” (click here to see the fan account – I reblogged it on Tumblr 6 months).
Is that supposed to be some sort of premonition? Did Kris really know that he was going to be away from his 11 brothers at some point? It has been 17 days since anyone has seen him outside of SME’s building, whereas his fellow members have been seen outside the building every now and then. There has been only one fan account of Kris being spotted in front of the building and that was three days ago, but nobody really knows.
All I can deduce from this is that maybe Kris has been given an offer to act or be part of a CF in China =P He was definitely sick, from the photos that we last saw of him at the airport, but as mentioned before, he must have also been in Guangzhou for the Lunar New Year.
Also, EXO is supposed to have their comeback soon, so why would Dui Zhang be absent from practices for so long unless there was something else that was very important? Hmmm…
Maybe I pay too much attention to details on what Dui Zhang says… Just like his fellow members say, that when Dui Zhang reads something, it stays in his mind for a long time. The same happens to me too. I kind of have a photographic memory. ^^’
Unless Dui Zhang had something planned or knew about something all along, it’s rather strange for him to mention out-of-the-blue that he hopes that others would be able to take care of themselves when he is gone.

Speaking of ‘chilling’, I’m not supposed to be blogging during this busy moment. I’ve been out and about looking for an apartment to rent. Don’t even get me started on the one that I saw yesterday…there were 6 Chinese university students renting it. When I visited it, there were only 2 Chinese guys and 1 Chinese girl present. They were so casual while we were looking at their apartment.
One of the Chinese guys was lying down in his room while reading a book and the other one was sitting on the ground in another room and staring at the laptop in front of him like L from the anime, Death Note. His eyes were literally glued to the screen. He was watching some Mainland Chinese program and was so absorbed by the program that he only noticed us when my dad asked, “May I check the view from your window?” As for the Chinese girl, she was sitting in her room and reading something in her hands. If someone came to my apartment for the purpose of looking around and wanting to rent, I would probably be dressed and not casually lying around in my room…that’s just real awkward to me! Hahahaha!
The most awkward moment was when I came to Sydney and entered an apartment that was displayed for looking at without realizing that there would be people in it. I just casually walked in and then suddenly saw four university guys playing video games in the lounge and they all just stopped when I entered. There was dead silence for about two seconds. I just turned around and quickly walked out. I waited for my parents to appear and then took a look around the apartment.
Most apartments that I have seen and that have been occupied by students are not clean at all. With many students in one apartment…what do you expect? I would feel sorry for the person that is extremely picky about cleanliness and has to live with messy people.
I’m also sorry to say this, but most guys are lazy when it comes to cleaning! I’ve heard of all sorts of stories from a few of my friends about the Chinese guys that they have to share an apartment with. They say that the girls are clean, but the guys are too lazy to even pick their plates up and put them in the sink after eating. o.O
Why am I even sharing stories about my personal life? I guess I’m lazy to make a separate post. I just want to keep these funny moments as a memory xD

I sense their comeback is happening really soon! Thanks to the composer of EXO‘s new album, Ryan Jhun (@ryanjhun), for dropping hints on Twitter about the group’s comeback. He is the only reliable source for news centered around EXO‘s new album at the moment. Even if they see the fiaaaahh (fire), I still see the light. Light will prevail! I suggest that they too should turn to the light =P

Let me guess…one might be thinking why this post starts off with the word, “flying”, in its title? Interestingly, the reason is that Kris was flying in the sky at the same time as me while I was traveling back home on November 15th and there were a lot of incidents that correlate with that I’ve been discussing in my blog posts and in the comments section with friends. Coincidence? Maybe a few, but the rest…I don’t think so.
What’s surprising is that I noticed on November 13th that Kris had gone back home to Guangzhou in China to see his relatives or close ones on a break and that he also traveled alone. It’s also alarming considering the fact that in my post, EXO-M: 7 Months, 41 Trips…and Counting, which was published on November 10th and before I left on my journey on November 15th, was on the number of airport trips EXO-M has had for work reasons. The post also focused on Kris‘ airport fashion and me stating that I am going back home, which is in Saudi Arabia, for the break after one whole year. To be more precise, this is what I had mentioned about EXO-M in the post:
Just remember that, even though it seems amazing that they have traveled 41 times within these few months, they travel for work purposes. This means they are not traveling for holiday purposes like most of us do…Speaking of this, I’m going to be on a hiatus. I am traveling back home, iA, and I need to do some packing. I have a very long flight ahead of me. It has almost been a year since I’ve seen home. The comforts of home…miss it! ^^
Two days later, after I had published the before-mentioned post, I see Kris traveling to his hometown, Guangzhou, for a short break and that too, without a manager.
On an even more alarming note, I wrote, “I IZ FLYING….Wheeeeee,” on Kris‘ RenRen just hours before he had a flight to Guangzhou. I literally had no idea that he would be flying back home. Hence, my expression when I saw photos of him at the airport in Guangzhou on his own was: o____O Strange coincidence… Am I good at foreshadowing of what is to happen in the future? I really don’t know, but many things that I have mentioned in the past have come true.

Apart from this coincidence, I saw pictures of Kris with coffee from Starbucks in his hand and then the surprising pictures of him at the airport in Guangzhou and him carrying Ace, the alpaca plushie aka Dui Zhang‘s son, in his bag a couple of hours later (I wonder if he had shown Ace to Aunty Wu and gave it to her as a gift when he reached home). It looked like Kris left Seoul early morning. He appeared very tired =( He probably didn’t get his 8 hours of beauty sleep =P Why do I have a feeling that he probably stayed awake at night and was busy packing? Generally, when I see people in the kind of tired state that Kris was in, it makes me upset for some reason. I get this notion that the guys in EXO are working too hard for their comeback these days. Sometimes I get angry as well – angry at the company. Honestly, I don’t mind if EXO‘s comeback is late. As long as they get enough rest, it’s fine.
Although Kris‘ stay in Guangzhou was short, I’m glad that he finally had some freedom to be able to enjoy the comforts of home.
As for me, my flight was on November 15th around 6 A.M. I left the apartment at 3 A.M. and on the previous day, there was a total solar eclipse, which I had missed out on seeing because I was sleeping xD
My flight had a stop-over in Dubai and the flight from Sydney to Dubai was around 14 hours long. The plane had three seats on the left and right and four seats in the middle. My brother and I sat on the left-hand side of the plane. I sat in the aisle seat, whereas my brother was in the middle seat. Of course, the window seat next to my brother’s was empty for a while and I had completely forgotten that someone would be sitting there.
So what happened next?
Out of all the people in the world, an Australian guy named Chris/Kris, who looked like he was in his early-mid 20s, had to sit in the window seat in the same row as my brother and I on the plane. My reaction was: o___O As if the before-mentioned incident of me traveling back home and Kris traveling back home as well was already not a big coincidence.
Anyhow, my brother and I were about to get out of our seats to make way for Chris/Kris, but before we even got up, he got to his place within two seconds ’cause he had really long legs. As soon as he sat down, he confidently introduced himself and said, “Hi! My name is Chris/Kris,” and politely extended his hand to shake hands with my brother. My brother mentioned his name and then Chris/Kris saw me and asked, “And you?” I told him my name and then we both shook hands.
The Chris/Kris on the plane looked like he wanted to have a conversation. I was ready to talk; I enjoy having conversations with people, but since my brother was really tired and put the hood of his hoodie over his head and closed his eyes to go off to sleep, I thought I should keep quiet. So instead of talking, I plugged in the given headphones and listened to K-Pop music that was available on the plane. However, I later switched to listening to music on my iPhone, as I had a more up-to-date list of songs. Before I knew it, I was asleep. I slept throughout most of the flight, so the journey didn’t seem so long.
When I reached Saudi Arabia, my mum later asked me who sat with us on the plane from Sydney to Dubai and I said, “A guy named Chris/Kris.” My mum laughed and mentioned, “I’m sure you must have started talking to him.” I replied, “No…I was about to,” and then I stated the reason why I didn’t. My mum answered, “Well, since you can’t talk to the Kris that you’re a fan of…this was a good opportunity to talk to the Chris/Kris that was sitting with you.” She had a point…hahahaha! xD

Before reaching Saudi Arabia, however, I had a three hour stay in Dubai and as I waited in the lounge in front of the departure gate after having lunch, I decided to check Tumblr and Facebook on my iPhone. All of a sudden I saw pictures of Kris at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on his way back to Seoul and a notice that he was going to arrive in Seoul at 9:30 KSA time. So Dui Zhang and I were at airports in entirely different countries and we were also flying in the sky at the same time but not together…hahahahaha! xD My flight from Dubai to Saudi Arabia was only 40-something minutes long and I’m guessing a flight from Guangzhou to Seoul is around 2 hours (P.S. I’ve been to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on a school trip back in early 2006. It’s a nice airport).
As for Dui Zhang on his way back to Seoul, I had the opportunity to see pictures, watch one or two videos, and read a few fan accounts of his interaction with fans at the airport in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport while I was at Dubai International Airport xD How…interesting. The most hilarious part was seeing pictures of Dui Zhang in the departure lounge with fans surrounding him as I was waiting in the departure lounge with empty seats nearby and everyone else in their own little world xD
This makes me wonder…you know how people talk about parallel worlds? Well…what if you were KIND OF living a parallel life as someone else but your paths have not crossed yet? Hmm. Life can be so strange at times. I should probably stop being philosophical =P
Anyhow, I’m not really surprised by Kris‘ lovely interactions with fans at the airport that day. I have known that he has been working hard to be a good role model and set an example for others for quite some time. He is definitely getting inspiration from somewhere =P Many of the things that I have previously mentioned in my blog have pretty much turned into reality and I will state which points in a while here.

What I found really surprising and amusing is that Kris gave out White Rabbit Creamy Candy to some of his fans.
Remember when I jokingly mentioned in the post, EXO’s Kris Wu – The “Mysterious” Member, which was posted on March 6th, that the reason for Kris‘ stern expression and no smiley face is that someone must have stolen or taken away his candy? Well, it seems as though nobody stole candy from Kris this time and that he had plenty of candy to hand out, hence the bright smiley face at the airport he had that day xD I wonder what was going through Kris‘ mind at that time that he decided to hand out candy to fans. Hasn’t anyone ever heard to never accept candy from strangers? ‘Cause the last time I refused to take candy from a stranger was when I was on a plane and this was when I was around the age of 7.
I heard that White Rabbit Creamy Candy is really popular in China. It sounds very similar to Ding Dong Bubble Gum, which is a well-known candy in Pakistan. The cat mascot is rather famous xD

Speaking of this, China kind of reminds me of Pakistan at times. No wonder why they have strong alliances with one another! Apart from that, Seoul is an upgraded version of the city, Karachi (this is one of the cities that I am from), in Pakistan. South Korea even copied Karachi’s “Five-Year Plan” for economic development and the World Financial Center in Seoul is modeled after Karachi too, but this was during the time when Karachi was regarded as the future New York City of Asia.
I guess things sort of changed in Karachi as time went on, but that’s an entirely different story all together and involves a lot of in-depth information on the political situation over there that I don’t have the patience to talk about at the moment. My uncles often have hours and hours of debate over a cup of chai on Pakistan’s political situation. It’s quite interesting.

On the other hand, one of my lecturers in my class stated that I should be doing public relations work for my country so that I can improve the nation’s image. I think it sounds like a good idea. My friend from Changsha said that she wants everyone to know about Pakistan ’cause she finds Pakistani culture to be very vibrant, states that the traditional outfits that Pakistani people wear are unique, and she loves the country’s food a lot. She even made a couple of her Chinese friends try Pakistani food for the first time and they really loved it…and let me just mention that our food is pretty spicy for those that try it for the first time. Then again, people from Changsha or the Hunan Province are known for eating spicy food, so it’s probably not something that they would have to get used to ^^
Now moving onto Kris‘ beautiful moments with fans at the airport in Guangzhou on his way back to Seoul…I will be quoting comments from various posts in my blog and comparing them to some of those beautiful moments that eventually occurred. It should be noted that here, I’ll be using fan account descriptions, fan taken pictures and gifs., and fan cam. video captures on that day for comparison. I’m really happy that he (Kris) has become more comfortable around the public and has gained confidence in being able to express himself better….I know that a couple of people like him more now that they have seen his gentle, soft, and “angelic” side. I suppose he was quite nervous during the showcase days and decided to keep a straight face so that others do not notice. Due to his nervousness and the many thoughts that must have been running through his mind, I think he must have had a difficult time looking at the audience with a warm smile. For instance, in one part of the showcase in China when the members of EXO were walking off the stage, Kris waved to the fans but his face was turned the other way, which many would probably see as a very rude thing to do ’cause one is supposed to look at the person or crowd while waving. LuHan did the same with his heart formation but I can tell that he was shy too. KRIS WANTING TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE FANS

I’ve seen Siwon and Zhou Mi take photos with fans. I wish Kris and the rest of the members of EXO could do that too. Actually, I’ve seen Baekhyun take photos with fans at Disneyland and Lay has taken a photo with a fan at Disneyland AND one of the SMTOWN concerts. I think Lay is pretty relaxed about taking photos with fans, but you will have to ask when their manager is not around. Even though there might be a slim chance, I would still ask Kris for a photo. Another important thing, which is a little more serious from what I have just mentioned, I saw a gif. of one of EXO-M‘s managers hitting a fan boy because the fan boy wanted an autograph from Kris. I was quite angry for a while when I saw that. Is this the way SME’s managers are supposed to treat fans that make the effort of purchasing their music artists’ albums and supporting them or coming all the way to the airport to greet them? That fan boy wasn’t doing any harm at all. Poor guy…if I had a manager like that, I would have definitely said that what he did was wrong and I would have given an autograph to that fan boy so that he wouldn’t feel bad. From the beginning I start watching EXOM’s interviews I kind of feel like are what they saying true? Why are they always saying good things about each other and it just seems perfect too perfect. Also, I’ve seen Kris‘ pic. in which the caption underneath it mentioned that he wants to have his name on a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame one day, his message on EXO-M‘s Weibo talking about sunshine, his recent RenRen status discussing stars, and heard his description of a Halloween card that included his drawing of a moon and a sun, which had a similar expression as his own, that went along the lines of, “The Sun is angry at the Moon.” I think Kris has some sort of grudge against the moon. Hahahaha!
In regards to Kris‘ RenRen status, he should listen to his mum’s words. Mothers are wise for they have more experience in life. I told my mum about Kris‘ RenRen status and she also agreed with what Aunty Wu said. Interestingly, my mum has shared the song, Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) by Doris Day with me a couple of times and I think it perfectly describes what all mothers would like to tell their children. It also fits very well with what Kris‘ mum may have been trying to indicate. The song has the following memorable lyrics:

The message in it seems to be one that many may agree with.

Moreover, I read a fan account about the thrown fan gifts when Kris arrived at Incheon International Airport from his trip to Guangzhou. Okay…now this time I think this was planned. Don’t ask me why…but I’m guessing that it’s one of those situations where the company wants to gather sympathy for its music artists by making us go, “Awww…they must be so strict on these young guys!” I don’t know what the truth is…but that’s a possibility. Why would Manager Khyun want to get involved in this kind of situation after fans already expressed their anger towards the other managers in SM Entertainment on how they have rudely behaved towards fans? It just doesn’t make any sense. Something’s fishy… and when something’s fishy, I thought Kris wouldn’t like it *raises eyebrows*

Anyhow, it’s something that shouldn’t be given too much attention if that’s what SM Entertainment is asking for xD I will always remember my first day of Masters and when I was in my Public Relations Strategy class in which 100 or more students were shown a video of doing PR work for celebrities in entertainment companies. What we saw was something that would probably get most people shocked. After the professor had shown that video to the class, she asked, “So who wants to do PR work for a celebrity?” Nobody raised their hands. I was about to…but that video really turned me off about the whole thing.
The video depicted how clever entertainment companies can be in deceiving the general public. They literally plan everything out ahead of time. It’s all about getting attention through all kinds of means…as in, they are the ones that start rumors and pull off stunts so that they have the audience’s attention…regardless of whether they are positive things or negative things. The company needs to have people talking about something so that their name is known and that they have some form of popularity. Many say that to work in the entertainment industry, is something that many innocent people have a difficult time doing. Whoever is innocent in that industry, I applaud them for their efforts, will-power, and strength of character.

I can guarantee you that Kris definitely trolls around blogs and other various places on the Internet where people are discussing EXO. I’m watching you Dui Zhang (as I always say =P). He even stated in the EXO-M Yahoo! Interview, which was released yesterday (I need to add comments on this interview =P), that he surfs/browses the Internet during his free time. Furthermore, I know that Kris uses his ability to read and speak in English, Korean, Mandarin, and Cantonese to his full advantage. Reminds me of a sly fox…but we, fans, also have a very sharp mind =P That is why I want to throw a rubber ducky at him when I meet him in person.
According to a fan account on Kris‘ surprise birthday event on November 6th, Lay mentioned that when Kris reads his fan letters (may we add blog posts to this as well?), the things that are written in them stay in his mind. For more details, read the following excerpt of the fan account:

I guess people give expensive gifts to someone famous because they want to be remembered by him/her…I think letters of appreciation are the best. They seem more meaningful and motivating.

All I can say is that I would make a pretty darn good PR adviser for a celebrity! =P On the other hand, Dui Zhang is doing a pretty good job at “marketing” research xD I’m sure that Kris was also waiting to see what I would write about his beautiful moments with fans. I also remember Kris saying that he wants to understand the feelings of his fans by browsing or doing research on the Internet. This was during the time he replied to messages on the EXO-M fan board in May, 2012 (see EXO’s Kris The Magic Dragon). Ahhh, so warm and caring, but very sly too =P Kris, I hope you don’t get pressurized or pushed by people’s comments a lot. Take it easy… Everyone has opinions and different feelings and you don’t always have to agree with them =) Though, I do have to mention that I don’t like some of the practices in the entertainment industry. Remember, you are not a product that needs to be customized according to people’s preferences and to satisfy their expectations. You are a human being with a free mind. The freedom to be yourself and think for yourself…that’s jjang!
On a random note, I guess Dui Zhang knows that he looks cute and is now emphasizing that in his photos. Smart move.
