If We Could See Inside Others’ Hearts

Standard

My friend, DJ, always shares such thoughtful videos on Facebook… Thank you, as always.

This is such a wonderful and deep video. At the same time, it also demonstrates the type of patient care that is provided by Cleveland Clinic. I liked the quote at the end of the video, too.

We may look different, but our hearts beat with the same dreams.

By the way, DJ happens to be one of my friends since high school. We went to the same undergrad. university together as well. People would always see us hanging out together wherever we would go. I guess you can call it a KT moment =P She has a blog on Tumblr, too. I don’t know if I’m allowed to share the link to her blog, but I’ll ask her, iA. ^^

Another Graduation…Done!

Standard
The teddy bear has also graduated with a Masters degree =P

This lil’ teddy bear has also graduated with a Masters degree =P

Today, I had my graduation ceremony and finally received my Masters degree, alhamdulillah. ^^

It was nice catching up with everyone and seeing my friends, most who had gone back to their home country after completing their studies. A couple of the Chinese girls, who were studying in the same program as mine, flew all the way from China for the graduation ceremony. I saw many of my Indonesian friends as well.

I missed my Changsha friend, though. She would have been at the graduation ceremony today if she decided not to go to Berlin, Germany to study advertising in a more in-depth level. *sigh*

Interestingly, I talked to some people that I had never talked to before. It always happens when I’m waiting in a line for something xD I usually end up making friends. =P

Since I’m in Australia, teddy bears are not the only ones that receive attention. Koala bears do too!

Graduating teddy bear and koala

Koala bears have koalifications as well (I should place the second pic. in my CV =P)

The special speech by a journalist that was presented today was pretty interesting. It was more about how our generation is going to face a lot obstacles in the next few years because everything around us is changing at a very fast pace unlike before, or in comparison to what the previous generations had to experience. Thanks for showing us the “reality” of things. He discussed the economy and the political situation of today’s time in addition to mentioning the “middle class” and the elite. I clearly knew what he wanted to say.

Furthermore, he kept emphasizing on the following three words: risk, chaos, and uncertainty. It’s true that we might have to adapt ourselves to changing times or may be forced to accept what is to come ahead, but we can’t forget to have faith in God no matter how tough it is. If people do, then they will lose themselves in this world. Rather than accepting what is to come, why not work on trying to establish justice?

So, another graduation has gone by. I still feel like my high school and my undergrad. graduation will be the most memorable…particularly the latter. There was something special about them. I’m guessing it’s ’cause I spent four years of high school and four years of undergrad., which is much longer in comparison to one year of graduate school.

All that matters now, is that I’m done with my studies, alhamdulillah!

I’ll reply to all comments soon, iA. I’ve just been really busy lately. I’m kind of sleepy right now too, but I want to watch an episode of Rooftop Prince before going to sleep. I’m on Episode 10 at the moment. ^^

A31: I haven’t debuted yet =P I don’t plan on debuting…kekeke! I shall mention graduating instead because debuting sounds somewhat similar to it. I graduated from bachelor’s at the age of 22 and from master’s at the age of 23.

Q41: If you had a 2-week break, what will you do?
A41: Travel with family

Q42: If you could change a part of your body, which part would it be?
A42: None, I am thankful for what God has given me.

Q43: If you were to become a Girls’ Generation member, you would?
A43: No, because I wouldn’t be too comfortable with the outfits that they have to wear and some of the dance moves that they have to do. This goes for being a member of any girl group. Plus, I come from a family that does not approve of a profession like this in the entertainment industry. I, myself, want to be treated with respect and be known for my thoughts. I like Girls’ Generation (for their bubbly personality), but it’s sad to know that they’re being used as objects to bring in money. The same goes for the boy groups. Anyhow, some of my friends say that I kind of remind them of Sunny =P

Q44: In the future would you want a daughter or son first?
A44: It doesn’t matter. I’ll be okay with either one. I love kids ^^

Q45: If a billion dollars dropped from the sky for you, what will you do?
A45: Buy a house for my parents (I don’t know if they would need it ’cause we already have a house, mA), help the needy, invest, start my own business, buy ice cream…  =P

Q46: If you lost your way during a vacation, what will you do?
A46: Ask for help. I’ve gotten lost in China TWICE. The first time, I was given help without asking for it by a kind person that didn’t know English but was still willing to help me out when she saw me upset and confused as I was looking around for my group. The second time, my dad found me (thank God…because I didn’t have my cell phone with me at that time and there was hardly anyone around me).

Q47: If you could choose your gender, would you be a male or female?
A47: Female…but I have wondered how it would be like if I were a male xD

Q48: If your parents wanted you to get married tomorrow, how will you face it?
A48: If it’s with someone that I like and have known for a while, then I’m okay with it. If it’s an arranged marriage with someone that I don’t know, my parents would want me to get to know the individual first, not get me married straight away. Also, the Holy Qur’an says that the child has the right to make a decision in terms of marriage, but shouldn’t reject someone that’s of RELIGION and CHARACTER without a proper reason. Compatibility does play a role too.

Q49: If you are attacked with vicious comments from antis/haters, what will you do?
A49: Try to understand where they’re coming from, pray from them, and continue being myself if I feel that I have done nothing wrong. Only God can judge me.

Q50: If you had a boyfriend, what is the first thing that you want to do?
A50: If I know that the feelings are mutual between me and the person that I like, I would tell him that my intention for being interested in him is clearly marriage, not fun. My parents would most likely want to meet him too, so I would introduce him to them. If they have a good impression of him, then they would want me to get engaged to him. After all, they want a guy for me that would be able to make a commitment and that I would be happy with, iA.

The Promise – Signs of the Apocalypse/Day of Judgement

Standard

I have been searching for this video for over a year, and today, I finally found it! This video talks about the minor and major signs that will become apparent towards the Apocalypse/Day of Judgement. Islam, Christianity, and Judaism share very common links in terms of the signs. These signs have been mentioned thousands of years ago and most of the minor ones have already happened or are happening in front of our very own eyes!

There are several people that are still sleeping and haven’t woken up to what is happening around them.

Briefly discussing some of the points:

The nations of Earth will gather against the Muslims like hungry people going to sit down to a table full of food.

That became apparent when 9/11 happened. This situation is still going on… The prophecies about Iraq and Syria have come true too.

When people (bedouin) begin to compete with others in the construction of taller buildings (Bukhari).

Almost every other nation is competing with one another to create the “tallest building in the world.” What’s the point? Can’t that money be used for more meaningful things from which the general public would benefit from?

Miserliness will be thrown into the hearts of people (Bukhari).

This means depression, and it’s increasing a lot among the youth.

Family ties will be cut (Ahmad).

The family unit, one of the most important aspects of society, is crumbling apart. This is the plan of those behind the New World Order agenda.

Prayers for My Uncle

One of my uncles passed away today. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raij’un. May Allah grant him a place in Jannat al-Firdous. Ameen. I’m just shocked by the sudden news when my parents called me a while back. They’re with my aunt and my cousins right now in another city. My parents had immediately left home when they had heard the news.

My uncle had gone to the mosque to pray and during the prayer, he had collapsed and passed away. My uncle was a very kind person and always used to give me a big hug whenever we met. Whenever I was over at my aunt’s place, at lunch or dinner time, he would always ask me to be served first with a chicken dish, because he knew that I loved chiken. It’s not going to be the same once I go back, iA. Please pray for my dear uncle and for my dear aunt and cousins.

The Last Two Years Of Undergrad.

Standard

My newsletter ^_^

A picture is worth more than a thousand words…

The following picture is of a newsletter that I had made for the Pakistani society at my undergrad. university. Working with this committee on events, preparing for the big performance, and being with my wonderful friends was perhaps the best part of my uni. life. So much has changed after grad… I am the farthest away from all of my friends. Even though I had the opportunity to meet up with my friends and some of my ex-committee members in January this year, I just wish there was more time to catch up and talk about life.

I still can’t believe that it has been almost two years already since graduating from my undergrad. Everyone goes their separate ways in life, but there’s not a day that goes by where I remember all the great times that I’ve had with the people that I was once with.

I’m really thankful to everyone that supported me during the elections and throughout my Senior year of when I was the Media Coordinator. It was tough due to the drama that came along during the campaign week and the fact that there were many expectations, but having the position that I ran for was definitely worth it!

As for the friends that were there for me, especially in the last two years of my uni. life…you girls are my angels! <3 I just wish that I wasn’t so far away from all of you in this land of kangaroos and koala bears =P

P.S. My picture is on the second left-hand side of the bottom row and is next to the title “Media Coordinator” in the above photo ^^ (there was only one other girl in this committee, who had left in the middle of the year, so it’s easy to spot me! =P)

A Present by Laylie

Laylie aka acircletofwhitedaisies, who I got to know through my blog, made this for my birthday, which was in February:

Moonlight Collage by Laylie

Moonlight Collage by Laylie

I didn’t notice this lovely collage that she had made until last month (I’ve seen some of the pics. before that she had sent through KakaoTalk, but not the collage). She found some rocks while she was at the beach and made “Moonlight” out of them.

Thank you, dear! Love it! <3

May 11th – Naya (New) Pakistan?

Just one more day left…this could be the turning point for Pakistan! I can feel the patriotism in my fellow Pakistanis at this very moment.

Imran Khan

(Credit: To the rightful owner)

Despite the efforts made by overseas consulates to enable overseas Pakistanis to vote, the current government at home has not implemented an overseas voting system. The corrupt people that currently run our nation definitely know that the majority of overseas Pakistanis are all supporting Imran Khan and that our vote would make an incredibly huge difference in the upcoming elections. Moreover, if we were given the chance to vote, they wouldn’t be able to tamper with it like they do with the votes of the people back at home.

A couple of people living close to Pakistan are flying into the country to cast their vote. I wish that I, as a Pakistani, were able to vote in this election. I’m counting on everyone back in Pakistan to make a wise decision in their vote!

It’s a fact that majority of Pakistanis want a positive change and that change can only be set forth once Imran Khan is elected. Leaders like him don’t come around in history that often and this is our only chance to get the nation back up on its feet once again!

Praying for Imran Khan to win the elections. Praying for a better Pakistan. Praying for a future for all of us. Ameen.

An Analogy of the Eternal Life

Standard
(Credit: To the rightful owner)

(Credit: To the rightful owner)

A beautiful analogy of the eternal life after this world aka the Hereafter and the Creator

In a mother’s womb were two babies.

One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”

The other replies, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”

“Nonsense,” says the other. “There is no life after delivery. What would that life be?”

“I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths.”

The other says “This is absurd! Walking is impossible. And eat with our mouths? Ridiculous. The umbilical cord supplies nutrition. Life after delivery is to be excluded. The umbilical cord is too short.”

“I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here.”

The other replies, “No one has ever come back from there. Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery it is nothing but darkness and anxiety and it takes us nowhere.”

“Well, I don’t know,” says the other, “but certainly we will see mother and she will take care of us.”

“‘Mother?’ You believe in mother? Where is she now?”

“She is all around us. It is in her that we live. Without her there would not be this world.”

“I don’t see her, so it’s only logical that she doesn’t exist.”

To which the other replied, “Sometimes when you’re silent you can hear her, you can perceive her. I believe there is a reality after delivery and we are here to prepare ourselves for that reality….”
