The song, Spectrum, is originally by Zedd ft. Mathew Koma. SM Entertainment (SME) bought the rights to the song and made a Korean version for S.M. The Performance, which I had even mentioned in the post, EXO at SBS Gayo Daejun 2012. Check it out!
On New Years Eve, EXO-K and EXO-M both had separate performances. While EXO-K was in South Korea forSBS Gayo Daejun, EXO-M was in China for Jiangsu TV New Years Eve Concert.
EXO-K performed a different version of MAMA. It included the ad lib part that we had all been wanting to hear for a while. As one can see in the video, they were performing out in the cold. It must have been freezing at that time! Crazy!
EXO-K also left fans with an energetic message for the new year.
Sehun is finally speaking more! Awesome! It’s nice to see that EXO-K have become more confident over the year. ^^
EXO-M right before the Jiangsu TV NYE Concert
Meanwhile in Nanjing, China, EXO-M performed MAMA, Two Moons and History. The performance for Two Moons was great and it’s nice to know that all the members were comfortable on stage. Tao‘s, “Ayo, wassup/waddup Kris?” was left with Dui Zhang asking, “How ya feeling ladies?” Hahaha. Why not ladies and gentlemen? I’m sure there were gentlemen in the crowd too =P Furthermore, every time I hear Kris rap, it’s like something that is supposed to sound like Eminem’s rap.
The following video is of EXO-M performing Two Moons and History.
I’m going to be very honest. I hope we don’t get to hear another performance for MAMA. Seriously, TOO MUCH. All of 2012, MAMA, MAMA, MAMA, and MAMA. I got tired of it since ages ago =P
Apart from that, I liked Dui Zhang‘s top for the concert. I used to have shirts with dragons on them in middle school and high school, but I have gotten rid of them as I don’t need them anymore ^^’

Moreover, Lay, Luhan, and Kris formed hearts for the fans. It was cute! Kris also danced crazily as seen seen in this fan cam. (at 2:45). xD This is one of those rare moments where we see Kris go hyper. Hahaha! Somewhere in he beginning of the talk, Xiumin even trolls on Kris by stating, “Hello, I’m EXO-M‘s Dui Zh-,” and Kris immediately steps in to take the mic. from him. Xiumin quickly says, “Sorry, sorry. I’m Xiumin.” xD Additionally, Tao‘s New Years treat was two flips, which you can see here.
Interestingly, pictures of EXO-M, which were never seen before, were displayed on a screen at the concert. They are all on EXO-M‘s Official Facebook Page now.

Dui Zhang also had a little end-of-year surprise for the fans. It seems as though this was intentionally done. Nobody would put their jacket slightly off their shoulders if they were trying to hide it =P
I think most of us fans knew about this for a very long time and I guess Dui Zhang thought there was no point in hiding it xD It’s alright. As long as he doesn’t get more. We shouldn’t harm or alter the body that God has given us. Some of the designs are also not good in the sense that they are linked to tribal beliefs of the ancient times. However, we also shouldn’t judge a person by appearance like that as well, and this is coming from a person such as me, who is quite conservative. I always knew that Kris was a gangsta… =P Hahaha! Just kidding! ^_~
It was interesting to see EXO-M and Jay Chou together on stage. Jay Chou is an internationally recognized Taiwanese music artist, who I have known during my teen years thanks to my brother, who introduced me to his song, Fearless. I’ve read that Jay Chou has collaborated with Super Junior-M in the past, so I’m wondering if he would be collaborating with EXO-M in the near future.

Moving on, Dui Zhang‘s letter to Baidu Wu Yi Fan (Kris) Bar this year was short and sweet. He took the time out to write it.
Kris‘ Letter to Baidu Wu Yi Fan (Kris) Bar
Reminds me of the time when my friends and I would write each other letters, especially plane letters (letters that were meant to be read on the plane only). I write a lot on paper, but since most work is now entirely done on the computer, I’ve ended up as the kind of person that types a lot. Hahaha! =P
*****
To every of you:
I have appeared in front of you for almost a year. Time flies neither quick nor slow. Because you are there, everything went well. I really want to say ‘thank you’ to you. Good job! Although these words are simple, they are truly the words that I want to say to you every day.
My every you, Happy New Year!!! Please be happy in the new year~ the life may not be so perfect, but if it is too perfect… There would be nothing interesting, isn’t it?
If you are away from your home, don’t forget to call your home. If you plan to go outside, watch the Weather Forecast first. Don’t catch a cold! (The two above you should be sure to keep in mind, the next year you can use it in continue. Ha-ha, go and remember it.)
That’s all for today. 2013, be there or be square~

There are always slight differences when Chinese is translated into English. For instance, the first sentence is supposed to say Fan-Qin, right? As in the Fan family? “Be there or be square!” Hahahaha! This is what my friends and I used to say back in middle school. Also, the phrase, “See you later alligator. For a while crocodile,” was used often too =P I like how Dui Zhang wrote “(in person),” and, “(Please excuse my handwriting).” ^^’ It doesn’t matter if your handwriting is not good, Dui Zhang, it’s the thought that counts! =)
Dui Zhang also made a small drawing at the end of the letter. It looks like a bird. I guess he was trying to emphasize that he is flying to see all of his fans in person =P
EXO-M‘s New Year Message
…and this marks the end of my posts on EXO until their music videos and album is out (well, I do have one “interesting” thing to discuss =P). I’m going to very busy this year, but that can’t be helped. My friend from Chansgha is also leaving back to China for good in two months =’( I only have less than a month for hanging out with her once I’m back in Aussie Land, iA. I don’t want to be LONLY. Hahaha, just kidding =P
I should be used to meeting and saying goodbye to people since I travel around a lot. It’s not easy being a Third-Culture-Kid sometimes. You feel like you don’t belong anywhere and end up creating your own form of identity, which takes on the role of being a GLOBAL citizen. However, I guess that’s what also makes me open-minded about other cultures and willing to learn about new things. ^^’
So hello to 2013! May all our dreams and wishes come true. Ameen.
